- wearing the hat was an accident, she just grabbed a nondescript primary red hat and it was accidentally one of the MAGA ones she keeps in her home
- she didn't see it was a MAGA hat when she picked it up, wore it on the drive to the club, at the golf course, in the car on the way home, but was horrified when she realized it's a Trump hat
- she will not be wearing the MAGA hat again, and will be throwing out the hat to avoid a similar day-long mistake in the future.
