I've heard the allegations re Nick Robinson and am taking them seriously. Nick has been suspended pending a thorough Vox Media inquiry.
— chris grant (@chrisgrant) August 5, 2017
- It started with Nick Robinson making a half-joking tweet about "jacking it" to Krystal from Star Fox
- His tweet blew up, leading to prominent people within the game industry talking about "brand horniness" and how it's easy for some people to "hide behind a soft and unassuming image to disguise predatory behaviour"
- No names were named but many speculated the tweets were directed to Nick Robinson
- On the 2nd of August, Nick Robinson made an angry tweet about the developers of Overcooked regarding the game's performance issues on the Nintendo Switch
- The tweet sparked a number of responses from people, one of them claiming that "maybe Nick would have time to help the Overcooked devs out if he wasn't in every woman in games' DMs all the time"
- NeoGaf created a timeline of the number of people speaking out against Nick Robinson in the past, causing more and more victims to come forward
- Many of the victims have either locked their account or deleted their twitter following harassment from Nick's fans
- A lot of Nick's predatory and gross behaviour was known by many inside the industry but kept hush-hush because of Nick's status
Here's a thread summarizing the situation that was explained above, along with screenshots:

Maybe Nick would have time to help the Overcooked devs out if he wasn't in every woman in games' DMs all the time

This has happened to me more than I'd like to admit, and each time I return to the refrain "I should have known better."

If you're wondering why you never see receipts for some of the gross behavior of powerful ppl in a given field, just think a lil bit harder

I'm so happy that Polygon is taking this seriously. We need to make this community safe for everybody https://t.co/UENXyKG3HP

I'm glad some folks have been saying some things they've kept to themselves/close friends for a long time tonight.

Ppl taking the filter off tonight is the consequence of years of keeping quiet because careers, connections, etc

Matt Kessler and Ben Pack, who host the podcast "Podburglars" along with Nick Robinson, have also spoken up:
i'm so fucking furious
— Matt Kessler (@MattBodega) August 4, 2017
Done with podburglars
— Matt Kessler (@MattBodega) August 4, 2017
If that dumb show contributed to anyone feeling like they couldn't call out such gross bullshit, I sincerely apologize
And if anyone reading this feed felt like they couldn't tell me this stuff was/had been happening, please accept my apologies.

There's not much i can say that people more eloquent haven't already said about what's going on.
— Ben Pack (@PackBenPack) August 4, 2017
i'm not forgiving (yet) or forgetting (ever). i'm still trying to process everything, but i'm equal parts furious and confused right now
— Ben Pack (@PackBenPack) August 4, 2017
Griffin McElroy who is known to work alongside Nick Robinson on several projects has also since responded to the situation:
So, I’m at a loss for words about the events of the last day. I’m shocked, and angry and so deeply, deeply sad about it all.
— twenty griffinteen (@griffinmcelroy) August 5, 2017
All I want to say is like, this is happening in real time for a lot of folks. Please, please keep that in mind
— twenty griffinteen (@griffinmcelroy) August 5, 2017
and please respect the privacy of the folks directly involved; like smarter folks than I have said, quit asking for receipts.
— twenty griffinteen (@griffinmcelroy) August 5, 2017
