Polygon producer Nick Robinson suspended after sexual harassment allegations

Editor-in-chief from Polygon, an American video game website, Chris Grant tweeted out that producer Nick Robinson has been suspended pending an investigation by Vox Media.

  • It started with Nick Robinson making a half-joking tweet about "jacking it" to Krystal from Star Fox

  • His tweet blew up, leading to prominent people within the game industry talking about "brand horniness" and how it's easy for some people to "hide behind a soft and unassuming image to disguise predatory behaviour"

  • No names were named but many speculated the tweets were directed to Nick Robinson

  • On the 2nd of August, Nick Robinson made an angry tweet about the developers of Overcooked regarding the game's performance issues on the Nintendo Switch

  • The tweet sparked a number of responses from people, one of them claiming that "maybe Nick would have time to help the Overcooked devs out if he wasn't in every woman in games' DMs all the time"

  • NeoGaf created a timeline of the number of people speaking out against Nick Robinson in the past, causing more and more victims to come forward

  • Many of the victims have either locked their account or deleted their twitter following harassment from Nick's fans

  • A lot of Nick's predatory and gross behaviour was known by many inside the industry but kept hush-hush because of Nick's status

Here's a thread summarizing the situation that was explained above, along with screenshots:

Matt Kessler and Ben Pack, who host the podcast "Podburglars" along with Nick Robinson, have also spoken up:

Griffin McElroy who is known to work alongside Nick Robinson on several projects has also since responded to the situation:

Nick Robinson hasn't tweeted since the allegations came out.
