The Divergent franchise was a YUGE flop. The last book was split into two movies in order to make more money even though the prior films didn't break the bank. The first part, Allegiant, was a flop both critically and financially so the second part was axed by Lionsgate. Then there were plans to make it a TV movie but nothing came of it. Lionsgate is now developing Ascendant into a TV series. Theo James and Shailene Woodley have already said no to doing a TV movie so they'll probably say no to a TV series as well.
