Newspaper columnist fired after writing anti-semitic (and sexist) article

'Controversialist' Kevin Myers, writing in the Sunday Times Irish edition about the BBC pay disparity, suggested TV and Radio presenters Vanessa Feltz and Claudia Winkleman were more highly paid because they are Jewish.

Myers was objecting to the call by high-profile BBC women employees that the corporation do something to tackle the gender pay gap.

His article, entitled 'Sorry Ladies, but equal pay has to be earned' was circulated widely on Twitter:

Myers, who belongs to that group of opinion writers who exist to cater to the worst instincts of the very worst people, must now seek employment elsewhere.
