Lathan shaved her head for the filming of Nappily Ever After which is being directed by Wadjda director Haifaa Al-Mansour for Netflix. The film is based on the book of the same name by Trisha R. Thomas about an ad exec who is tired of straightening her hair and gives herself a buzz cut before dumping her long-term boyfriend who refuses to commit.
